In this tutorial we are going to accpmplish the following things:
- Configuring a user with bandwidth limit.
- Using mikrotik’s default graphing tool.
How to configure a user with bandwidth limit:
Click on Queues button. Queue List will appair, in this image we can see many users we have already configured, but in your case if you configure user for first time it will be blank.
- Click on add (+) button.
- Name the user.
- Insert the IP address is being used by the user.
- Set Max upload limit.
- Set Max download limit.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
Above is the very basic user configuration, there are many other option you can user as you required.
Configuring graphs for users, interfaces, cpu, memory and hard disk:
Go to Tools and select Graphing.
- Select Interface Rules.
- Click Add (+) button.
- Select interface from dropdown list.
- Insert allowed address range.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
- Select Queue Rules.
- Click on add (+) button.
- Select Sample Queue (user) from dropdown list.
- Insert allowed address.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
- Select Resource Rules.
- Click add (+) button.
- Insert desired address range.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
Now you have to open port 80 for viewing the graphs from the web browser. Go to IP and select Services.
- Select WWW (port 80).
- Enable it.
Go to your web browser and enter routers ip address. In my case I entered 192.168.5.1/graphs. Now all the graphs related to system resource, users and interfaces will appear.
Click on the link you want to view the graph.
